I started Purple Clove Inc. after experiencing difficulties  during the time my son found out he had Lupus at a young age. Local support groups were nonexistent and the hospitals only advised us to go online to connect with different services. What we needed was more information or to connect with real live local people who could understand or explain more details about the disease.

As a mother I felt alone and frustrated. So I vowed once my son was feeling and doing better I would set up a nonprofit to connect with hospitals and support other people that may have the disease.

Purple Clove, Inc. provides information on what symptoms to look out for and what doctors can test for to help detect the disease early. My goal is to also raise money yearly to provide monthly activities for kids who are limited to the outdoors because of their compromised immune systems.

"Why" Lupus families

The reason we choose to support Lupus families is because this disease hits closest to home.

Yes, there are other diseases that we should also be aware of. This one is very hard to detect. People can go undetected for years or even live half a lifetime without knowing.

We want families to know the key factors and the most important tests to ask for when dealing with doctors. Lupus related symptoms can be a matter of life and death.

Our Organization

Purple Clove Inc. seeks to change the dynamic of what it means when we say “local support” group! We vow not only to help in our city, but all over the world. This has truly touched my heart beyond this awful disease. Our goal is that when anyone mentions our name, people can honestly say, "Yes! Purple Clove really helped us through our most difficult times and beyond!"
